Some Tips for Manipulation of Information with ADT, MSP, and CPT4D

Architectural Desktop (ADT) UI

Things to remember

Set user coordinate system

Design walls (ADT): create a rectangle with 4 walls

Design a rectangular slab (ADT)

Create a slab by attaching it to a set of existing walls (note: roof is similar)

Create a slab "from scratch"

Design (a rectangular) slab (sides aligned with the x, y axes)

Move an object (ADT)

Resize an object (ADT)

Zoom the view (ADT)

Pan the view (ADT)

Distance between two points (ADT)

Area of region (ADT)

Layer control (ADT)

To add a new layer or reset the "current" layer

To reset the "current" layer

To specify which layers to make visible (or color in which they are shown)

Getting started with ADT

Export VRML (ADT)

Export From ADT:

ADT (quickly) puts a blue line across the bottom of the ADT status bar as it saves the VRML file in .wrl format.

Select an object (ADT)

Select one object

Microsoft Project (MSP) UI

Create tasks (MSP)

Create successor links (MSP)

Save for export to CP4D (MSP)

Edit schedule file to remove days of (MSP)

Common Point 4D (CP4D) UI

Things to remember

Import VRML file into CP4D

Show 4D animation (CP4D)

On the animation toolbar:

View one object from tree (CP4D)
