Final exam

Final Exam Clarifications:
4c) We mean adaptive evolution (i.e. the rate of adaptive substitutions, not the number of mutations).
5b) By "6 different chromosomes" in the second sentence we mean "homologous chromosomes from different genomes", not "6 chromosomes in the same genome".
6b) This does not ask any question, so no answer is needed. Question 6 is worth 30 points now, not 40.
6c) "...frequency of the A allele" should read "...frequency of the A2 allele."
6d) Before the apes move on, they have been there long enough for the goat allele frequencies to reach equilibrium.
8) In the second sentence in the statement of the problem, the amino acid substitution rate is measured per year, not per generation.
9d) You may assume that 2Ns >> 1, regardless of the estimate of N you get in part (e). You may also assume that we have codominance (h = 1/2).
11) In this question, you may assume that no appreciable adaptation occurs in the sequence under study.
