Course Overview
-------------------------
We will read and discuss a set of reviews and papers on the topic of high level vision. I will approach high level vision as a matter for empirical study. We will take a broad approach including topics in Neuroscience, Physiology, Computer Vision, Psychology and Neuropscyhology. The course will emphasize recent theoretical and empirical  findings in the fields of visual object recognition.

I hope this course will give you an opportunity to think about an important problem, and that the course will stimulate your scientific curiosity.
The last couple meetings of the course will be devoted to a scientific debate about current controversial issues in the field.

Each week, one  student will present and lead the discussion on that week's readings. By teaching the course in this format, each of you will have the opportunity to get a feeling for what it is like both to participate and guide a small group discussion. Because of its small and informal nature, we will be able to have more flexibility in this seminar than we might have in a larger lecture course.
