Art Theft Alert!
Ronnau on Vacation; Oil on Paper
Ronnau on Vacation
A small painting by John Calhoun was stolen from the Bangs Street Gallery in Provincetown.
It is called "Ernst Ronnau on Vacation." Professor John Henry Merryman, a wellknown
art law professor at the Law School at Stanford University commented that that was quite a compliment for John.
When it was mentioned that this was the third time that one of his paintings was stolen the professor
quipped that John was acquiring quite a following. The other two paintings were stolen
from the San Francisco Art Institute.
