Research Interests:

My general research interest is to apply learning to robotics, or more specifically, apply learning to the interaction between the robot and the physical world. I am most interested in simple robot behavior problems, such as walking, manipulation, grasping, and responding to simple stimuli. Instead of focusing on specific task implementation, my goal is generalized techniques which allow the robot to adapt to new situations.

My current research is in robot haptics, or the science of robot touch. With my research I hope to determine the necessary sensors and control techniques for three-dimensional multi-fingered manipulation by first exploring touch manipulation within a simplified two-dimensional environment.
