This is a reenactment of the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill. I asked my dad and my uncle if they would play the parts of John Sutter and James Marshall. We went up into the Garin Park Hills and filmed these scenes. I did the camera work myself (except for introductions). We had a good time and my uncle played on his guitar and sang. I had a hard time not laughing and we had to do a lot of takes on the scene where Sutter and Marshall talk about the gold to get it right.
