I am a doctoral student, advised by Professor Bernd Girod, in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. I am affiliated with both the Information Systems Laboratory and the Max Planck Center for Visual Computing and Communication. My research interests are in the areas of video compression and media security, with a focus on applying distributed compression and machine learning algorithms. I have twice won Best Student Paper Award: as first author at the IEEE Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing (MMSP) in 2006, and as co-author at the European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO) in 2007. I hold a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford.
