Yosemite - Sons of Yesterday + Parkline Slab, 3/20-21/04 - Lin Murphy On Saturday we climbed Sons of Yesterday, starting via the first 2 pitches of Serenity Crack, and the 5.7 lieback/hand pitch of Ahwahnee Buttress. Lin had not done Sons of Yesterday before. Lin led p2 of Serenity and p2 of Sons. She took a fall on the hand crack section of Ahwahnee Buttress, and a couple on the lower crux of p1 of Sons - she finds it painful to use her feet in these cracks. Sunday - a visit to Parkline Slab, which was rather warm in the sun. We swung leads on these. Pro: tiny nuts to TCUs, 1 set Friends 1.5-3. 1. Stonequest 5.8+ R **, first 4 pitches Arrived atop Parkline Pinnacle, opened my pack, and discovered I had not put my water bottle into it! We cleaned up the anchor slings, removing several. Anchor bolts are 3/8", most pro bolts are 1/4" in decent shape. 2. Eagle's Eyrie 5.10a *, first 3 pitches (right side of block) p2 is wild, with some insecure runout moves that I would have trouble leading. Fortunately Lin led it! p3 was led as the sun was setting. It could use a little more cleaning, although most of the holds that are used were clean. All bolts are 1/4". The top anchor had not been visited in a long time. I got a blister on the ball of my left foot from all the tight shoe slab moves, or perhaps just the number of pitches we had done in climbing 3 out of 4 days. Descent with one headlamp.
