This last Sunday, July 29, I rebolted two bolts on "Tilting Terrace" (5.8) on the Flumes Formation. On the first pitch, I easily removed the fourth protection bolt, which consisted of a 1/4" x 1-1/2" threaded split shaft bolt and a homemade aluminum hanger. I enlarged and deepened the existing hole so that I could install a Rawl 6-piece 3/8" x 3-1/2" bolt and a Kong S.S, hanger painted brown. I tried to pull the only protection bolt on the second pitch, but the 5/16" diameter (possibly 1/4") threaded bolt broke at the threads after coming partially out. This bolt also had a homemade aluminum hanger. I pounded the remaining bolt flush with the rock. I drilled a new hole in the same solid block about 4" from the other bolt (the new bolt is in essentially the same location and orientation as the previous bolt). I installed a S.S. Rawl 6-piece 3/8" x 3-1/2" bolt and a Fixe S.S. hanger painted brown. Bolts Pulled or Broken: 2; Bolts Replaced or Placed: 2
