Sunset Boulders, Goat Rock State Beach
A note in "Basecamp" in Climbing Oct. 1985 submitted by
Joe Nickerson introduced climbers to this area. All route information
has been copied from his 2 page guide to the area.
The area has 30 routes on faces 10' to 45' tall.
The rock is a hard San Franciscan type Greenstone.
There are a few thin cracks and some nice face climbs,
and a few boulder problems on smaller rocks scattered around the
main rocks. This is a nice area to climb at if you live close.
It wouldn't be worth a long drive to climb here. If you're passing
through, bring your shoes.
