I work at the Max Planck Center for Visual Computing and Communication at Stanford University, hosted by Prof. Bernd Girod. My research interest is focused on the development of new techniques for the error resilience and streaming of video content over lossy networks. Currently, I am implementing an application designed to distribute Scalable Video (SVC) content onto a peer-to-peer network. Also, I am collaborating at the standardization of the Systematic Lossy Error Protection (SLEP) scheme in the H.264/AVC video coding standard.

I recently got the Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Milan in 2006 with a dissertation titled "Solutions for the protection and reconstruction of H.264/AVC video signals for real time transmission over lossy networks". The project was developed at the I.E.I.I.T. of the National Research Center of Italy in Turin (funded by ST Microelectronics).
